getting out of your own mess

I find it very frustrating to watch people around me unable to help themselves get out of their own mess. People should be stronger. Human communication should be simple. No hidden messages, no false hopes, no pretending. But then this is real life, this is the game, and you should be able to keep your player alive and in a good state. I hope you would.

My own mess is still haunting me, hopefully not for long.

Early 30s

• You prefer to stay in on a Friday night, lie on your couch, in front of the TV with good company, cook, have some wine and then drop dead before midnight.
• You don't feel like a loser for doing so.
• Going for a coffee on a week day is considered "going out".
• Staying up after midnight on a week day is considered late and means that you will need tons of caffeine to get through your day.
• Going clubbing is not considered fun - being pushed by people and squeezed in a corner in a place where there is no air and no possibility whatsoever of communicating with anyone is more of a torture than fun. Couch, blanket, wine, good company!
• You no longer live with your parents, and none of your friends does either. You have you own places, some even have their own families.
• You have been past the point where you talk about tiles, paints, furniture, kitchen, bathroom etc. You are already in your flat/house and now you are either into gardening, considering to have a baby or getting a pet.
• You don't worry about where to go clubbing on New Year's Eve. You will probably be trashed before midnight, and then end up at an after party at a friend's house.
• You worry about the money you will be spending on gifts, what to get for your friends' kids, and if you will be able to pay the bills.
• You are no longer pissed off with your parents, you want to see them and spend quality time with them. You realize you might not have a lot of chances to do so. After all life is short.
• You don't think that a 40 year old person is old, after all she/he is just 10 (or less!) years younger. What is 10 years?
• You cannot believe that anyone was born after 1980 - that is too young!
• You don't considering staying pregnant an accident but rather a blessing even though you might have not wanted to have kids.
• Waking up early on a Saturday morning is not weird. After all you have your house to clean and your supermarket shopping to do.
• You know what you want and what you don't. You know what you like and what you don't. And you will not compromise for anything else.
• You are calm and you don't worry about becoming 30, you are already there and enjoying it!
